Easter Hop

Welcome to the Easter Blog Hop featuring a variety of talented artists sharing their creations! There are so many exciting projects to try. Today I will share with you my Easter journal page. It has layers of scrumptious texture in beautiful Easter Colors!

I first started with my background and allowed that to dry before adding layers of texture. I used bubble wrap, a stencil, a plastic lid of some sort and rubber stamps. I finished my background with a splatter of white paint.

Once that was dry I stuck on my two Easter eggs that I had previously cut out of scrapbook paper. I added a stamped sentiment and a couple of stickers. I outlined everything with a charcoal pencil which I blended with a paintbrush and my trustworthy finger! To finish off, I added a shadow around the page using a sponge and black ink.

Easter Journal Page

  • mixed media paper or journal
  • gesso
  • acrylic paints – I used Apple Barrel Yellow Flamr and Bright Magenta, Folk Art Multisurface Ocean View, Folk Art Water Color Acrylic Paint, any white acrtlic paont.
  • matte medium
  • scrapbook paper
  • rubber stamp
  • blank ink pad

  • stickers/embellishments
  • charcoal pencil
  • scissors, paintbrushes, pencil, etc
