There are times when I need to put aside life and unwind, becoming so engrossed in my art journal that time just passes by. When I am finished I feel revitalized, ready to take on life again!
This journal page is entitled Dream. It really never took me long. It just kind of fell out. Maybe it was a reminder to hold on to my dreams when life gets challenging and keep dreaming no matter what. Art therapy is real!
I began by coating my page with gesso and allowing it to dry. I then used Gelatos to scribble all over, no thinking or planning involved. I blended them with gesso and dried with my heat gun. I grabbed my stencil and Distress Oxide ink and added a pattern to the background. I added the word “Dream” with Art Anthology Dimensional Medium and their awesome stencil and then added gold leaf adhesive with another stencil, allowed that to become sticky before adding the gold leaf. To finish off I used a rubber stamp and black ink to add text in the background, added some highlights with gold leaf, splatters of white acrylic ink and some doodles. Finally, I added the butterfly and added a shadow around the edges of the page.
This piece is the inspiration for all of you that want to make your own mixed media masterpiece and enter it into the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge. Art journal pages are a great option!

Another page I have seen today that I know would have been so much fun to create, adding the flake is a beautiful touch but the biggest delight is that incredible Butterfly. Stunning journal page, thank you so much for sharing.
