#Purrfect

It was a daughters birthday this week and I really had no clue what to get her. She is not a typical teenager. Her pets are everything to her so I thought, hey a journal page would be good but I did not want to work on paper. I looked in my supplies cupboard and found an 11 x 14″ wooden panel I had purchased from DickBlick, the type with the 1″ sides. That was perfect! Time to create a masterpiece.

I went through my phone and decided on pictures of her cats. Believe me, I have hundreds! I chose a few, printed them and then went down to my studio where I cut them all out and worked out possible arrangements. Once I decided on that, the rest was easy. Paint started flowing! I pulled out my stencils and texture paste and had some fun. The result is absolutely #PURRFECT!

She loved the gift by the way. She must have said “Oh my God” at least 20 times! I love that feeling, don’t you?

I sharing this piece on the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Blog. They have a monthly mixed media challenge on their blog. Anything goes, as long as it is mixed media! You can add up to three pieces in each monthly challenge for a chance to win a prize. Be sure to check it out!

I am also entering this in the Anything Goes Crafting & Card Challenge at Polkadoodles.

Well that’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  4. I’m sure your Daughter loved this journal piece, so personal and something she will cherish and keep for ever. So much more of a memory keeper than a card and with much more (C)attitude hee hee 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing.
