All Wrapped Up : A Journal Page

Hello my crafty friends. Welcome to another post. This week I am sharing a journal page with you I did as a guest designer for The Crafty Catz Challenge Blog. I am using an image  entitled Cup of Cocoa from their sponsor, Starz Stamps.

Follow along below to see how to make this journal page.

Step 1: Print, cut out and color your image.

Step 2: Draw a rectangular frame on cardstock and cut out.

Step 3: Cut a rectangle out of a piece of Mylar, the same size as the frame. Glue the Mylar on on the cardstock rectangle forming a window. Set aside to dry.

Step 4:  Using matte medium, stick down a piece of scrapbook paper in your journal.

Step 5: Scribble on the page with water soluble crayons.

Step 6: Spread around the color with gesso and water. Add some washi tape.

Step 7: Apply some spray ink. If you don’t have any, just dilute acrylic paint and apply.

Step 8: Remove excess in, blending as necessary. Using a stencil, apply a contrasting color.

Step 9: Add some more texture with a rubber stamp.

Step 10:  Using a toothbrush, add some splatters of white acrylic to the background. When dry, glue down the girl with matte medium. Add another coat on top and sprinkle with glitter. Allow to dry.

Step 11: Decorate the frame.

Step 12: Attach two-way tape to the underside of the frame.
