Who doesn’t like remembering childhood fantasy of fairies, pixies, elves and gnomes living in the garden under rocks, in trees and in magical mushroom houses? I certainly do! Authors like Enid Blyton brought this magical world to life for me and sometimes that inner child still wants to hang on to that mystery and magic. I tend to express this childhood fantasy in my artwork especially my sculptures. I am always told that my work is very whimsical and childlike. To me, that’s fantastic! In this crazy world, your inner child needs to come out and play!
In keeping with my love of childhood magic, my Creative Paperclay® Design Team post this month is about making a magical mushroom house. What makes this house special apart from being super cute is you can place a battery operated tea light in the house and watch the light flicker through the windows!
You can find full instructions on how to make this on the Creative Paperclay®Blog. I used Delight™ Modelling Compound in this project, also known as Delight™ Clay. It is very light clay and extremely soft. It is also a great clay for little hands. You can find Creative Paperclay® and Delight Clay™ online at Creative Paperclay Co and also at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Dickblick and Amazon.
Please be sure to check out my tutorial, you won’t be disappointed. If you haven’t done so already, subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Thank you for stopping by!
Happy crafting,
Suzette
