Hello and welcome! Today I will share with you how to make a Christmas Angel. This tutorial complements my “How to Make Lace Angel Wings” tutorial. It is a mixed media sculpture made from a bottle, along with a few other items and Creative Paper Clay®. Isn’t she beautiful?

I hate to throw bottles and jars away so I have quite a collection. Some time ago I decided to start using them in my sculptures as armatures for “Mixed Media Bottle Dolls”. This angel is one of my creations. I made a video of my process so you too can begin using glass bottles in your art.
The supplies needed are as follows:
- glass bottle
- 1/4″ dowel
- styrofoam ball (I used 1. 85″ / 4.7cm)
- glue gun and glue sticks
- foil
- Creative paperclay®
- white glue
- acrylic paints – I used Deco Art Multi Surface Satin Buff Beige for the face, neck and hands and Cocoa Bean for the hair. For the dress I used Crafters Acrylic Antique White and White. For the trim I used Martha Stewart Metallics Yellow Gold.
- colored pencils
- black gel pen
- chalk pastels
- assortment of tinsel/ribbons for halo
- angel wings – see How to Make Angel Wings
Follow along in video below!
I do hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Happy holidays and thanks for stopping by!
